Residence of King Richard III
Rise Hall has a rich history, having served various purposes over the centuries. At one point, the estate was owned by Richard Plantagenet, Duke of Gloucester, famously known as King Richard III. Throughout the years, it served as the family home of the Bethell family, transitioning from a prominent society residence to a convent school, and eventually falling into disrepair. In March 2001, TV host and property expert Sarah Beeny and her husband, artist Graham Swift, acquired the property, which they later sold.
