Meldrum House Country Hotel is an old manor steeped in rich history, featuring an 800-year old Whisky Cave Bar laden with over 120 different types of whisky. The original old manor house dates back to the 13th-century and is set in a 240 acre estate, with an impressive golf course overlooking the quintessential Scottish countryside. The baronial mansion is a multi-award-winning property, combining luxury, style and comfort for the ultimate Scottish escape.
The hotel’s incredibly rich history can be traced back to 1236, when the land was given to the Barony of Meldrum during the reign of Scotland’s King Alexander II. There have been numerous redesigns of the baronial mansion over the following centuries. Famous architect, Archibald Simpson, worked on the old manor in 1836, which incorporated Jacobean style features with the grand Portico entrance and turreted pavilions of the home. Another redesign by W.L. Duncan in 1934 saw one of the turreted pavilions removed and the house redesigned into the Meldrum House that stands today.
