Located within walking distance of the charming town of Thiviers, guests have easy access to local shops, dining, and train connections to Bordeaux, Limoges, and Perigueux. Whether for relaxation or exploration, Chateau de la Guerinchie provides an exceptional escape that combines historic elegance with modern comfort.
From Noble Origins to Modern Charm
Chateau de la Guerinchie was constructed in the early 17th century as a quintessential manor house for the distinguished Comtes de Tessyere, a prominent military family. The design was a collaborative effort, with the family heavily involved in creating their dream residence, reflecting their vision of elegance and functionality.
The Chateau remained in the Tessyere family for over 300 years, a testament to its legacy and enduring charm. Since then, it has only changed ownership twice and is now lovingly maintained by a British family with two young children, who continue to preserve its historic character while making it a welcoming home for modern living.

Designed with entertaining large groups of friends or families in mind, the Château’s sleeping arrangements are both practical and luxurious. Each of the spacious bedrooms is en-suite, offering comfort and privacy for every guest. The top floor features a dedicated children’s room, making it perfect for families.

The chateau is setup to enjoy the amazing food and wines of region. The main kitchen has recently been renovated, with a beautiful Lacanche oven. Outside there are two huge fire pit barbecues, as well as an outdoor kitchen set up under a beautiful pergola in the orchard.

There are no shortage of activities to keep everyone entertained, whatever the weather. Indoors, guests can enjoy board games, a slate-topped pool table, chess, and a cinema-sized TV for cozy evenings. Outdoors, there is a swimming pool, and a large woodland area for walks and bike rides.
