The house consists of magnificently decorated reception rooms with real wood fires, a grand ballroom and spacious dining room, as well as 14 beautifully appointed bedrooms for guests.
Orlagh House was originally built in 1790 by Dublin snuff merchant Lundy Foot, and was originally called “Footmount”. Only after its third owner came to possess the property was it renamed Orlagh House. In 1798, the United Irishmen attacked the house, but Alderman Foot and the local militia fought off their attack, saving Orlagh House. Many famous figures from Anglo-Irish history visited Orlagh House over its lengthy history, including the Great Emancipator, Daniel O’Connell, Eoin O’Neill, Padraig Pearse, and William Smith O’Brian.
Orlagh House, a graceful Georgian mansion nestled in the Dublin Mountains, offers enchanting vistas of Dublin City Centre, Howth Head, and the Irish Sea.
