Built on the instruciton of Charles II in 1665 as a guest house for visitors to Hampton Court Palace, the Mitre hotel now stands as a Grade II Listed building. This charming boutique hotel perched on the River Thymes perfectly blends old with new, luxury with comfort. The 36 individually designed rooms are romantic, relaxing, and filled with personality. Adjacent to Hampton Court Palace on the banks of the Thames, built to hold Palace guests by Charles II, Origins date back to the reign of Henry VIII. The building has been Grade II Listed as a mid-18th century edifice. This house was famous for the meetings held there by the “Toy Club”, of which William IV the Duke of Clarence acted as president.
