Gleneagles Hotel is a luxurious estate set beneath the beautiful Ochil Hills in the heart of Scotland. A destination in its own right, the iconic historic hotel has a variety of amenities including a luxurious spa, a range of outdoor country pursuits, and a high-end retail arcade, and three championship golf courses. The estate also features ten bars and restaurants, including Scotland’s only Michelin starred restaurant. Upon opening its doors 1924, this stunning historic building was dubbed the ‘Riviera in the Highlands’ and the ‘eight wonder of the world’. Today, with its 5-star service and warm Scottish charm, it certainly doesn’t disappoint.
In 1919, James Braid, a five-time winner of The Open, was enlisted to design and create The King’s and The Queen’s courses in the grounds of Gleneagles Hotel – five years before the hotel itself. Gleneagles made golf history as host of the first international match between American and British professional golfers, widely held as the predecessor to The Ryder Cup. The hotel then opened in 1924 to great fanfare, but in 1939 became a military hospital and, later, a miners’ rehabilitation centre during the Second World War. The historic building offers plenty of opportunities to delve into its rich past as you enjoy a stay like no other…
One of the world's most beautiful venues, the wedding team at Gleneagles will work to create a truly bespoke and unforgettable day.
Gleneagles is one of the most well-known names in golf, owning three of the top courses in Scotland and being recent hosts of The Ryder and Solheim Cups. Experience golf like never before as you tee off against the backdrop of the magnificent Gleneagles hotel.
From a small team gathering to a large corporate event, Gleneagles is an impressive meeting destination in the breathtaking Highlands of Scotland.
Our 10 restaurants and bars provide the perfect backdrop for special family celebrations, post-round drinks, romantic dinners and sneaky nightcaps.
